Burckhardt Compression Awarded an Order from Braskem Including a New Frame for a 30-year-old Hyper Compressor in Brazil
Braskem, Brazil, selected Burckhardt Compression to supply a new frame for their existing Hyper Compressor type F10 that has been for almost 30 years in operation.
Burckhardt Compression recorded an order from Braskem in Porto Alegre, Brazil, to deliver a new frame for their existing F10 Hyper Compressor that was manufactured almost 30 years ago under license of Burckhardt Compression. The order includes the delivery of internals and auxiliaries, such as the crank gear lubrication, the main bearings and the crosshead guide plates.
The new frame will also enable the installation of a detecting system for real-time monitoring of bearing temperature on non-stationary moving parts, called Sentry, which is not possible to install on the existing frame. The delivery of the parts is scheduled to be in November 2009. The frame is made out of one-cast piece and weights 35 tons.
