After organizing the LDPE Symposium in Winterthur, Switzerland for many years, we have introduced a new concept which allows us to move closer to our customers and their current projects. For this year’s event we have chosen Xi’an in northwestern China. The city of Xi’an is located perfectly close to where most of our LDPE business is being made. The proximity to our latest projects and our own service center creates new possibilities regarding hands-on training and first-hand customer presentations.

About Xi’an
Xi’an is one of the oldest cities in China and has been the ancient capital during several dynasties. It is mainly popular for being the starting point of the silk road and home to the Terracotta Army. It is therefore a very popular destination for travelers from all over the world, as well as domestic tourism.
The city with a population of more than 8 million inhabitants offers a huge heritage of ancient dynasties, combined with all the advantages and possibilities of modern China.
Of course, we will take the opportunity and discover a few traditions during our Social Event on Friday, June 23, the last day of the symposium.
Venue & Accommodation
The hotel Le Meridien Xi’an, Chanba is located about an hour from the international airport and approximately 30 minutes from the historical city center. The hotel has opened its doors fall 2017 and offers plenty of state-of-the-art rooms, as well as multiple restaurants serving different cuisines.
As our guests will be accommodated at Le Meridien, all the presentations and break-out groups will be hold at the hotel’s own conference rooms. With your registration, your room will be reserved for you by us. We kindly ask you to pay for your accommodation during your stay, directly at the hotel’s reception. The hotel costs are about USD 105 (RMB 650) per room and night, including taxes.

Burckhardt Compression Facility
Burckhardt Compression has an own service workshop facility in Xi’an. The Workshop Session on Wednesday, June 21, will be held there. Please check our program in order to receive more information regarding the Workshop Session. In case you would like to participate, please make sure to choose the optional Workshop Session during registration.
Arrival & Departure
As we will be organizing a shuttle from the airport, please let us know your flight number and arrival/departure time, as soon as available.
The government of China offers a 72-hour visa-free transit, which enables easier travelling when coming from one country, staying in Xi’an, and leaving to a third country. As the Uhde „13th annual LDPE Plant Improvement Conference“ will be held in Bangkok right after our symposium, this might be a good solution regarding visa. However, please make sure to go through the limitations. In some cases it is recommended to have a regular visa.
