PROGNOST-NT Predictive Intelligence
Accurate calculation of the remaining useful lifetime of key components for enhanced availability
The software module Predictive Intelligence is an advanced solution, for the monitoring and diagnostic system PROGNOST®-NT (version 21), designed to forecast the remaining useful lifetime of valves and packings. Utilizing AI-driven predictive algorithms and real-time data, we enhance equipment availability, minimize unplanned downtime, extend the lead time for maintenance planning, and ensure full utilization of component lifetime.
Offered within our service level agreements we provide expert support based on data-driven decisions.
Why focus on valves and packings?
Valves and packings are the most critical elements, often responsible for most unscheduled compressor downtimes. Predicting the availability of compressors and the lifespan of these two critical parts provides a longer lead time for maintenance planning, allowing costly components to be utilized throughout their actual lifetime.

Your benefits
- Optimized and efficient maintenance planning: Spare part orders and personnel scheduling with longer lead time
- No unscheduled compressor downtime: Coordinating the predicted end-of-life for components with scheduled maintenance activities
- Increased asset lifespan: Enhances machinery lifespan with condition-based maintenance, allowing operators to fully utilize components like valves and packings without risking unexpected deterioration
- Easy to understand: Calculation output in form of time windows and trend plots
Algorithm profiles and applications
The module employs two independent algorithms, each utilizing different signal sets and calculation methods. This independence enhances the precision and reliability of the results.
Remaining Useful Life (RUL)
The Remaining Useful Life feature predicts the lifespan of packings and valves at the cylinder level using vibration signals. It applies to both horizontal and labyrinth compressors, providing a maximum forecast of 58 days. Initial results are available after the first anomaly is detected in the data set. This feature is patented under EP2023/065418.
Projected Availability Span (PAS)
The Projected Availability Span is a feature that predicts the operational reliability of sealing elements in compressors. It uses pressure and temperature signals to calculate the timeframe during which these components are expected to operate without anomalies. This applies to suction valve/packing or discharge valve for all cylinders, including labyrinth compressors. Initial results are available after 101 days of continuous operation. This feature is patented under EP4369127A1.
