Hydrogen is seen as the key energy carrier for a sustainable future

Hydrogen is a vital energy carrier with applications across numerous sectors. It boasts an impressive gravimetric energy density, yet its volumetric energy density is relatively low, around 3 Wh/L under standard conditions (20°C and 1 atm). To enhance its energy density, effective storage technologies are essential.

There are multiple methods for storing and transporting hydrogen. The optimal choice depends on several factors, including the quantity of hydrogen, the distance it needs to travel, and the associated costs.

  • Gaseous transport
Compressed hydrogen is stored and transported in pipelines or tanks under high pressure
  • Transport in liquid form
Liquid hydrogen is cooled down to very low temperatures and transported in liquid form

The liquefaction of hydrogen offers the advantage that more mass can be transported with the same volume. Besides liquid hydrogen is considered promising in terms of both gravimetric and volumetric hydrogen densities, high hydrogen purity, and the possibility for low-pressure storage.

Regardless of the refrigeration process used for hydrogen liquefaction, we are your preferred partner for identifying the optimal compressor solution.
