Burckhardt Compression completes the acquisition of Fornovo Gas
Following the ad hoc announcement on May 13th, 2026, Burckhardt Compression confirms the completion of the acquisition of Fornovo Gas S.p.A.
Founded in 1969 in Italy, Fornovo Gas, is one of the European leaders in gas compression solutions for biogas and compressed natural gas applications. It focuses on mid-sized reciprocating compressors and has developed a strong market position in Europe. Fornovo Gas employs approximately 120 people and generates double-digit MCHF sales.
The acquisition strengthens Burckhardt Compression's position in the growing Biogas and compressed natural gas (CNG) markets. Fornovo Gas brings strong technical expertise, a complementary product line and long-standing customer relationships into the Burckhardt Compression group.
