Investigation and proceedings against employees of Burckhardt Compression in connection with the purchase of shares for the ordinary employee stock ownership program.
On January 23, 2023, the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland filed charges with the Federal Criminal Court against two employees of Burckhardt Compression AG (BCAG). It accuses them of having exploited insider knowledge when they purchased shares for the company’s ordinary employee stock ownership program on behalf of BCAG in May of 2020.
BCAG has cooperated fully with the law enforcement authorities in the investigation. Since the share purchase was made by BCAG, the two employees did not derive any pecuniary benefit from it, nor did the purchase have any impact on BCAG’s earnings. BCAG takes note of the indictment. It is of the opinion that its employees acted correctly but leaves the legal assessment of the matter to the court. Both employees are presumed innocent and continue to enjoy the full confidence of BCAG.
