Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)

Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR)

After the finalization of a primary oil recovery that recovers ~10% of the oil reserves of the well and a secondary oil recovery that recovers up to 40% of the original oil in place, many oil wells can be operated profitable applying tertiary or enhanced oil recovery technics. Gas injection is one of the most efficient methods of tertiary oil recovery.

Improved Oil Production Performance

Burckhardt Compression’s API 618 gas injection compressors are used for handling high-pressure, high-density gas which is sent deep underground to an oil or natural gas well. The injected gas improves viscosity of the targeted oil and helps to improve the oil production of the wells.

Broad Range of Compressor Solutions

Burckhardt Compression’s Process Gas Compressors type API 618 are used to re-inject sour gases such as CO2 or H2S into existing wells with pressures up to 700 bara. Burckhardt Compression offers non-lubricated and lubricated Process Gas Compressors, horizontal and vertical. They are especially suited for high-pressure compression of hydrocarbon and corrosive gases. Burckhardt Compression offers its compressor solutions as complete turn-key installations, engineered packages or bare shaft compressors. Our in-house competence includes compressor design and sizing, pulsation and vibration studies, plant engineering, instrumentation and PLC programming.
